Parenthood is built in thousands of small moments.
It is getting up when you’re exhausted.
It is comforting a crying child.
It is learning from mistakes.
It is worrying when the child is sick.
It is celebrating achievements that seem tiny to everyone else but enormous to a parent.
And for two people who entered parenthood so young, those lessons would have happened alongside the normal process of growing up.
That would not always have been easy.
There may have been moments when they wondered what their lives might have looked like if things had happened differently.
That is a natural human thought.
But imagining another life doesn’t mean failing to love the life you have.
A person can recognize that circumstances were difficult while still being devoted to their child.
That complexity is something headlines often fail to capture.
There is also an important lesson for society.
