I Planned a Wedding for a Rich Woman – But On the Big Day, My Husband Stepped Out of the Groom’s Limousine

The press packets had included the wrong documents.

“I know.” The answer came instantly, sharp and furious. “But when I remember that night, I see you. You were smiling. You moved from table to table, handing out the pages that destroyed him. Then you went home and forgot.”

“I was just doing my job.”

“Exactly.” The word broke from her. “He was my whole world, and to you he was one more assignment.”

“Then you went home and forgot.”

For a moment, I understood the shape of her pain.

She had taken the worst moment of her life and tied my face to it because grief needed somewhere to go.

“Now, finally, I’ve made you pay.”

Vanessa smiled through her tears, waiting for me to break.

But what I did next caught her completely off-guard.
