She Shaved My Head to Make Me Quit My Job—Then I Discovered What My Husband Was Hiding

I grabbed my laptop.

“I am freezing the joint account.”

Nathan looked up.

“What?”

“You heard me.”

“Sofia, don’t do that.”

“I am protecting my money.”

“We have bills.”

“You have bills.”

“Our mortgage—”

“I’ll keep paying the mortgage.”

He looked relieved.

Then I finished my sentence.

“But only from an account you cannot access.”

His expression changed.

“You can’t do that.”

“Watch me.”

“You’re punishing me.”

“No.”

I looked at him.

“I’m stopping you from using my money to hide your problems.”

He stood.

“Sofia, please.”

I stepped backward.

“Don’t.”

He stopped.

I had never seen him look so lost.

But for the first time, I didn’t rush to save him.

I didn’t tell him everything would be okay.

I didn’t promise to help.

I didn’t offer another solution.

Because every time I had rescued him…

he had used the rescue to create another lie.
