The morning after I uncovered my husband’s affair, I packed every suit, watch, and pair of shoes he owned into 2 suitcases and wheeled them into his office during the Monday staff meeting. “You wanted him? Take him,” I told his young intern. The room fell silent… until she pressed a thick envelope into my hands and said, “He never told you who’s really been paying for all of this.”

He tried to pull me toward the exit, attempting to physically intimidate me into compliance, assuming the quiet wife would fold under the pressure of a public scene.

I effortlessly twisted my arm against his thumb, breaking his grip instantly with a sharp, practiced maneuver.

“I am home, Adrian,” I replied, my voice dropping to a freezing, clinical whisper that carried the weight of a judge reading a death sentence. “But you are currently trespassing.”

Chapter 3: The Architecture of Ruin

Have you completely lost your mind?!”
