“Your father wrote that because he anticipated your reaction.”
“What does she get?”
Samuel turned the page.
“The Roland Park residence, all personal property within it, sixty percent of the voting shares of Blackwell Hospitality Group, and the remainder of the estate pass to my wife, Claire Blackwell.”
The chair behind Vivian struck the wall.
“No.”
“Mrs. Blackwell will serve as controlling shareholder with a professional advisory board for a minimum of three years. Grant will retain his executive role. Lucas will retain his current holdings. Vivian may remain on the board only if Mrs. Blackwell and the independent directors approve.”
“This company belonged to my mother!”
“Harrison addressed that,” Samuel said.
He read from a separate statement.
“Margaret helped me build the company, and her children have benefited from that work their entire lives. Claire is not replacing Margaret. My death does not require one woman to be erased so another may be protected.”
